I created this project after being inspired by a product I was advertised. It was a box which when opened, it shows a picture that was sent by a friend or loved one, which I thought was really cool. Once I looked at the price, I knew I could make it cheaper and more power efficient by making use of a Raspberry Pi and an Ink Display to preserve the image that was sent all day long.
This project takes in images or text sent Discord through a bot, and displays them on a Raspberry Pi controlled Ink display via a Python FastAPI backend utilising the gpiozero and Pillow libraries.
